Ty Detmer - Pro, Football
Holding over 50 NCAA records, it's no surprise that Ty Detmer also holds a Heisman trophy. The college
fun began in 1988 at the Freedom Bowl. Facing Colorado, and losing, BYU brought in freshman Ty Detmer. Detmer
went 11 for 19, chalking up 129 yards and tying the game in the third quarter. He led the Cougars to a win in
the final minutes of the game, and received the MVP for the night.
Detmer went on to breaks records left and right, some of which are:
Most Passing Yards Season - 5,188;
Career Passing Yards Per Attempt - 9.82;
Most Plays - 1795;
Most Total Yards Gained - 14,655;
Most Seasons Gained 4000 Yards - 3;
Most Yards Gained as a Sophomore - 4,433;
Most Games Gaining 300 Yards - 12 (season, 1990), 33 (career);
Most Consecutive 300 Yard Games - 12 (season, 1990), 19 (career);
Most Games Gaining 400 Yards - 13;
Most Yards Against One Opponent - 1,453 vs. San Diego State;
Most Touchdowns Responsible For - 135;
Most Points Responsible For - 820 ...

Detmer was drafted in the 9th round of the 1992 Draft by the Green Bay Packers and has played for the
Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and the Cleveland Browns.
